We were contacted by a major role player in the blow moulding industry to assist them with purifying the compressed air to their plant.

Their main complaint was that the moisture interacted with the polymer causing defects such as: splay, bubbles, blisters, cracks, and brittleness resulting in production losses and downtime due to unnecessary breakdowns.

We did an audit of the plant and found the following:
• There was no air drier installed.
• No filtration system present.
• No condensate drains present in the plant.

We consulted with the customer to present our findings and to offer a solution. Our offer was to install high efficiency refrigerant drier with a proper filter system. We also pointed out areas in the pipeline where drains had to be fitted to rid the system of moisture. Now many may argue that a drier at the point of entry to plant is enough, but they tend to forget that many factors in the pipe system can cause secondary condensate and moisture thus it is of utmost importance to fit condensate drains at the correct places within the system.
